No New Execution Chamber for Nevada

Nevada lawmakers are considering spending $860,000 to build a new execution chamber, even through the state hasn't executed anyone since 2006.

A key committee split 5-5 on the vote this week, so voicing our outrage right now could make the difference to stop this unjust, needless, and expensive use of taxpayer dollars. Will you help?

Why is this important?

I am starting this petition because I am an opponent of the death penalty. At a time when public opinion across the nation increasingly trends toward eliminating the practice, let's send a signal that here in Nevada we're moving past an eye for an eye.

Reasons for signing

  • We must vote our interest, not the interest of a particular party. This is an example of not voting our interest. The republican party agenda includes war on crime. Even though crime is going down, the republican 's are fighting it like it's on the rise. The republican party should concentrate on creating jobs, providing healthcare, and increasing the minimum wage.
  • No need to send hundreds of thousands dollar's instead use it to supply the public education with tools, mechanism, artistic, technology and etc to advance student training.
  • WHO ARE ANY OF US TO PLAY GOD? DEATH PENALTY IS TOO FINAL, AND TOO MANY INMATES ARE DETERMINED INNOCENT AT A LATER DATE... AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY!!!
