Limit Outdoor Seating At American Brass
The Hunters Point community does not want to again lose a large area of community sidewalk space. The outdoor seating at the now-defunct Riverview restaurant made the sidewalk almost impassable and caused a bottleneck at a very busy intersection along Center Blvd.
Currently, the sidewalk is accessible to the community once again. We
object to losing community sidewalk space, especially as American Brass is so close to HPS, where there are residents in wheelchairs and who live with other mobility challenges, and the Hunters Point South Park, where so many families utilize the amenities, including those with strollers.
We ask Community Board 2 and the Land Use Committee to reconsider their approval of this oversized outdoor eating area, which will disrupt foot traffic and cause pedestrian bottlenecks at a busy intersection on Center Blvd.
We know and appreciate that Community Board 2 listens to and reflects upon community feedback and hope they will consider our request.

Why is this important?
To prevent the loss of valuable pedestrian sidewalk space to American Brass restaurant while promoting an active, pedestrian community for people and businesses.
