We petition that members of Congress should donate their pay during the shutdown to social service organizations to assist the individuals they are impacting by shutting down the federal government.
Congress should not get paid during the shutdown. They should feel the pain they are forcing on federal workers, the elderly, and the National Guard here in North Dakota.
Why is this important?
The members of Congress are out of touch with the people of the United States. The pains of delays in Social Security payments, National Guard furloughs, and farm payments are ones that the members of Congress should be feeling.
