No pay for Congress during the government shutdown, even retroactively. A $10,000 fine per day of the shutdown, for each member of Congress, should bring the government back in business.
Why is this important?
The government shutdown is the fault of both the House and Senate. The members are receiving their pay during the shutdown. Not paying them, and not paying them retroactively--plus a fine of $10,000 per day of the government shutdown--should get the government up and running very, very quickly.
