Congress is trying to dismantle protections for our streams, wetlands, and drinking water. Let’s tell our senators to stand up for clean water now.
Why is this important?
President Obama just restored Clean Water Act protections to thousands of our waterways. And before the ink was dry, House Speaker John Boehner called the president’s action “a raw and tyrannical power grab.”
Seriously? We’re talking about clean water. Not King George taxing our tea.
Unfortunately, overheated rhetoric is far from our biggest worry: The polluters and their friends in Congress are working to kill the new Clean Water Rule before it even goes into effect. The House has already passed a dirty water bill to roll back the restored protections, and the Senate passed a similar bill out of committee on June 10.
We can't let polluters win. Please add your name in support of clean water.
