No new federal or state program shall be mandated without the requisite money being provided by the governing body issuing the mandate.
Why is this important?
Petition is to stop unfunded mandates by Federal government and by State government. If these levels of government want something done, fund it. Otherwise local budgets already "set" as in the case of County Commissioners, Town Councils and/or School Boards are put in a real bind. I have lived with this many times at the local level and it is disruptive in ways you can scarcely imagine! Fund it or forget it!
