NO Voter ID IN Minnesota Constitution

We oppose theconcept of Voter Identification requirements be enshrined int he Minneota Consitution because we believe that technology will make requirementas oblsolete in the future and our state would be stuck with obsolete requirements that would be difficult to remove without an expesive referendum election that would be a further burden to Minnesota Tax payers -and the expense of Voter ID's amounts to a poll tax that disenfracises poor and elderly voters as well as military personnel serving over seas who cannot change addresses readilly. We also point out we live an a moblie society, and this requirement enshrined inthe consistution denies the right of social moblity and free excise of the pursuit of happiness.
We urge theMinnesota Legislature not to put a voter Identifaction requirment into the Minnesota consitution.

Why is this important?

Voter ID technologychanges as years go by-but putting Voter ID into the state consitutionhas the effectt of freezing technology into oneday oblostete systems. And as a consequence people have an unoffical poll tax, because of requirements (birthcerticficates andother things) that cost money, so that poorare excluded from voting right at the get go. Voting so be free fair and fundamental as a right in our democracy.
