NO warehouses for ICE detention centers!
ICE is spending $38 billion to buy and convert warehouses across the country into detention centers—a core tactic at the center of Trump’s cruel deportation regime.
In cities nationwide, ICE is kidnapping our neighbors off the street, with a record-breaking 73,000 people currently being held in inhumane conditions at detention centers. And the administration is doing everything in its power to grow that number as it looks to create more and more detention centers in our communities.
Residents are speaking out against the use of warehouses to hold immigrants in their very backyards, but we need elected officials to join with them and do everything in their power to block, delay, and interfere with warehouses being converted into massive, cruel detention camps.

Why is this important?
The Department of Homeland Security has a disturbing history of creating unsafe conditions for people being detained. Last summer, hundreds of people faced potential diseases from swarms of mosquitoes, dangerous flooding conditions, and limited access to water while detained at the inhumane Everglades Detention Camp, also known as “Alligator Alcatraz.”
Public opposition to these expanded detention centers is only continuing to grow. This is the time to speak out and demand an END to this ruthless campaign against our neighbors. That means:
- Congress must pass legislation to empower city and state elected leaders to oppose ICE taking over warehouses in their communities.
- State and local officials must explore every avenue, from legislation to zoning laws to putting pressure on developers, in order to prevent the sale of warehouses to DHS and ICE.
- Residents in neighborhoods with proposed sites must speak out and put pressure on local government to stop projects.
We cannot allow ICE and the Trump administration to keep expanding its inhumane deportations. Sign the petition to say NO warehouses for detention centers!
