Nominate Sheila Bair as Treasury Secretary
Nominate Sheila Bair to be Treasury Secretary.
Why is this important?
Women represent 53% of the electorate; we manage home finances as well as businesses. It is time that the Federal Treasury be managed to embrace issues for women as well as Wall Street. Sheila Bair was head of the FDIC before and during the Financial Crisis. She challenged both Paulson and Geithner on their approaches to dealing with the crisis. Appointed by George Bush in 2006, she brings the experience of being at the table during the financial crisis, a woman's perspective, and the potential for bi-partisan support and approaches to crucial Treasury decisions this year and forward. Let's have the nation's Treasury headed by a representative of 53% of the electorate.
