The efforts by partisan State officials to prevent or make it extremely challenging for certain citizens to vote resulted in an unacceptable and disgraceful election day fiasco. It is unfathomable, that in the 21st century, elections are held in such a shabby way with no uniformity from state to state. Voter registration should be achieved in the same simple way in which we apply for passports and and 18 year old men register with the Selective Service. We need a law that would require that state election officials be professional and non partisan. The cost of this elections board could be paid for by fees charged to PACs and SuperPACs.
Why is this important?
This is a response to the numerous problems American citizens faced on election day. It is long overdue for elections to be run by professional, nonpartisan elections officials with rules and methods uniform across the United States.
