North Carolinians - Oppose guns on campus and other places

I ask that you oppose HB 937 and similar legislation that would allow people to keep concealed weapons in cars in parking lots of college and university campuses. In addition, people will be able to carry concealed weapons in places like parks, bars and restaurants.

Introducing guns on campus and other public places will only create an unsafe environment for all. Thank you

Why is this important?

At any point, the North Carolina State Senate could consider H.B. 937 - legislation that would allow for guns on university and community college campuses, at assemblies where admission is charged (like stadiums and concert halls), parks, restaurants, and bars.

The House has already passed this outrageous bill and we must stop it in the Senate. This legislation is part of the gun lobby's playbook of pushing guns into every public space they can.

We need to send a message to State Senate President Berger and the Senate that guns don't belong on our college campuses or places like parks, restaurants, and bars. The University of North Carolina System, along with the League of Municipalities and others all oppose this legislation.
