NPS proposal threatens DC demonstrations
The NPS wants to know if taxpayers support paying for cleanup and support of demonstrations and entertainment near the White House. If passed, it will make large demonstrations like MLK's "I Have a Dream" demonstration financially impossible, as well as smaller groups who support a cause and want it known. At regulations.gov, you can find the National Park proposed rule change on the top left under “trending.” When that opens, click on “Open docket folder” and you see the comments area. There is a spot for “Comment now.”
Why is this important?
If this is passed, it will threaten the rights of groups or individuals of all persuasions to exercise their right to free expression and free assembly in our nation's capital. Please comment before the Oct 15th deadline.
