There is no safe way to mine, mill, process and transport Uranium and no safe way to operate a Nuclear Power plant and no safe way to dispose of Nuclear waste. THEREFORE, Stop the proposed funding of new Nuclear Plants and begin shutting all existing plants down.
Why is this important?
Congress and the President have authorized spending 8 billion dollars to finance 2 new Nuclear Power plants in Georgia at a time when there is very little regulation from the NRC or the DOE as to how or where to contain the waste from the back end of Nuclear power generation. Additionally as Fukishima has lethally demonstrated the effects of an accident can be deadly and last for generations. Furthermore, the mining and milling of Uranium is dangerous at all stages.
