NYC PARADE FOR VETERANS OF IRAQ WAR

NYC RESIDENTS: Tomorrow our city will appropriately honor and celebrate the Victorous NY GIANTS with a ticker tape parade in lower Manhattan's Canyon of Heroes. Yay! Why not, they help sell millions no, Billions of Dollar$ in advertising. That helps support America's Largest Export; The Entertainment Industry. Cool.

Let's not forget those supporting Americas Largest Industry, The Industrial Military Complex and those returning from The Iraq War; The American Men & Women who have bravely served under the American Flag in a war which has lasted 10 years. For many Service man and women, joining the American Armed Sercices is the only way out of poverty or near poverty. A large percentage of those serving their Country are minorities and this is the means affording a higher education.

If NYC can afford to celebrate yesterday's Superbowl victory, then the city can certainly afford to welcome home those American Iraq War Veterans with at least the same dignity afforded The Giants for their hour of playing ball, and dollars in advertising.

Let's send a clear message to the Mayors Office and to those men and woman, many from NYC who have served three or four tours of duty, years away from their families, that we appreciate their real human sacrifice..

Why is this important?

New York City residents: Send a message to NYC Government that if we can honor the NY GIANTS by hosting a ticker tape parade celebrating their victory in the Superbowl, then we should act honorably and pay homage to the Service men and woman who served our country in The Iraq War. Many of those in today's American Armed Services are either from families living at or below the poverty level, and for many, joining the American Armed Services, this is the only way of attaining a higher education as a means of lifting themselves out of poverty. We ought to at least acknowledge their sacrifice and commitment to the ideals of this country in honoring their service. Many of those who've served in this war, apearantly have done several tours of duty. Regardless of our position on any of these wars, we should honor those who have served their country, and their families, with a Parade in the Canyon of Heroes, like we have all other generations of Veterans returning home.
