New York State is one of the states where a convicted rapist can petition for visitation rights to children born to their victims. This is abhorant and deeply disturbing. It also needs to be illegal.
Change the laws. Bar rapists from children born of rape.
Why is this important?
I have not been affected by this personally, but know and love people who have survived rape. No woman who has been raped should be legally tied to her rapist. It is morally reprehensible.
