Olive Street Park is not a Regional AIDS Memorial

A regional AIDS Memorial does not belong tucked away in Olive Street Park, a neighborhood park in Bankers Hill.

The regional memorial deserves a prominent, visible, and respectful location that acknowledges the magnitude of people we have lost in San Diego to AIDS. Olive Street Park does not achieve this goal.

Why is this important?

Olive Street Park is not an appropriate location for the regional AIDS memorial in San Diego; and the site selection and design for such an important memorial should be transparent and follow an open public process.

The Task Force and City officials should revisit the Olive Street Park decision and think carefully about the regional AIDS Memorial San Diego deserves.
