To: The United States House of Representatives and President Donald Trump
One Vote Per 500,000 would correct the injustice in the Electoral College and the House!
There is a lot of talk about eliminating the Electoral College, but that won't fix the under-representation in the House of Representatives. If we had "1 Vote per 500,000" the Democrats would control the Presidency and the House of Representatives right now!
Here are the statistics:
Currently, there are 538 electors. It is comprised of 435 representatives and 100 senators, plus the three electors allocated to Washington, D.C. This is the same as the Electoral College and is twice 269 – which is why the candidate that wins 270 electoral votes will win the election.
This number of representatives was set by Congress under the Apportionment Act of 1911, and this is what I propose we replace with "1 Vote per 500,000".

Each state receives 1 vote, with the remainder divided by the states based on population. These numbers were fairly divided when the Apportionment Act was voted into law in 1911. At that time 60% of the US population (of 92 million people) lived in rural areas. But now 75% of the US population, (which has tripled since 1911, to 291 million), mostly live in cities.

Setting aside the Senate, (and its 2 votes per state), the House and Electoral College were set up to fairly represent the people. They no longer can because of the 435 limit.
As an example: Wyoming has a population of 586,107 and 1 vote. California has a population of 39,144,818 and 55 votes, (or 1 vote for every 711,724 people). Based on “1 vote for every 500,000 people” California should have 78 votes. This is the main reason that the Republicans won the Presidency (the Electoral College), and have a majority in the House of Representatives.

And this shows the electoral votes by state:

By assigning more votes based on population, 1 vote per every 500,000 constituents would provide more populated states to be fairly represented by both the House of Representatives and the Electoral College.
What makes this even more interesting is that the rural states generally receive more Federal funds than the states with high urban populations.

New Jersey leads the pack. For every $1.00 paid in Federal taxes, it receives $0.61 back in Federal support. California receives $0.78 back, and New York receives $0.79 back. In general, the most populated states pay the most in Federal Taxes and are the least represented.
This equates to taxation without representation and was one of the leading causes of the Revolution of 1776.
We suggest that the number of votes be adjusted every 10 years based on US Census findings.

Why is this important?
Trump is in the White House and Republicans control the House of Representatives because of an outdated law set in 1911. This petition would eliminate that law and provide fair representation for all. Democrats would own the White House and The House of Representatives if we had "1 vote per 500,000"
