Online Campaign - Stopping genetically modified food tests on Children

"How would you feel if I told you that a group of scientists had come to the United States, and fed a group of 24 children aged between six and eight years of age a potentially dangerous product that had yet to be tested on animals?

"What if I told you that state authorities had come out publically with clear directives against this very experiment, and yet the experiment had continued regardless?

"You'd be pretty outraged, right?

"Well, this is what we believe is happening, EXCEPT that it is happening on Chinese soil and on Chinese children (and I hope you've managed to maintain that outrage.)

I am Yi Lu, a translator in China. These days, I have noticed the deterioration of everyday food safety in the country. Vegetables, staple crops and fruits are contaminated with pesticides and plant growth regulators everywhere. To make things worse, the additional threat of genetically engineered crops sneaking into our daily diet stealthily has been haunting the population who are left in the dark over the years. Children are most vulnerable under this particular threat.

The donations will be used to pull together an initial online campaign that calls for an end to GE tests on children and the sale of GE food to the population at large without a transparent and prudent approval process.
