We, the undersigned, do petition our elected officials (from the President on down to local municipalities) to compare the state of readiness of our government's equipment to pre-9/11 levels. Has equipment sent off to Iraq and Afghanistan with our troops been replaced? If not, please have each state's National Guard leaders and local leaders prepare shopping lists that can be combined on a federal level for maximum purchasing power from private companies, as a way to both stimulate the economy AND bring our state and local municipalities up to maximum preparedness in the event of localized emergencies.
