Outlaw congressional signed taxation pledges.

Under Article 1, section 8, clause 1 of the United States Constitution, the federal government is given the power of taxation, which reads - "the congress shall have the power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all Duties, imposts, and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States." This power is essential to the administration of government and the lack of that power renders the government ineffectual. For the sake of our future generations, we must restore this power to fund the obligations of our government and reduce our national debt. NO member of congress should ever be permitted to make a promise, either verbally or written, that would relinquish that authority to an individual or corporation.

Why is this important?

To prevent congressional members from relinquishing government authority to individuals or corporations that can lead to an ineffectual federal government.
