Outrageous Water Bills in Baltimore City ; and forced foreclosure due to low ( as low as $ 250.00...

We're paying too high of a price for the use of water that is unsafe to drink and oppose the unjust law that allows forced foreclosure of homes due to delinquent water bill as low as $250.00.

Why is this important?

This petition is about unfair water bills in Baltimore and the law that allows the City of Baltimore to foreclose on a home for as little as a $250.00 outstanding water bill.

I am a homeowner who occupies a single dwelling home in the city of Baltimore. I am being billed for an average daily consumption of 276 gallons. There are two people currently living in my home, my daughter and I; my grand-daughter is away in school, there are no leaks on my property. I had to pay a $1,500.00 water bill a few years ago at that time I had plumbing replaced from the street leading into my home. The plumbers informed me that the problem was not due to the street to house plumbing.

City water is also used by county residents, however they do not have to pay for the use of city water. In closure; I do not operate a business that I would be expected to consume 276 gallons of water per day. If county residents utilize city water they should pay for the portions used by them, and last but not least homeowners living in Baltimore pay enormous water bills but we have continued water main breaks due to neglect of the upkeep of our water structure. I question where and how the money is spent from our bill payments?
