The first amendment states that there shall be no laws abridging our rights to peaceably assemble. Hitchhiking is a form of political expression & is peaceable assembly.
Hitchhiking is a simple way for people to use less gas. Many people are looking for simple ways to conserve. This is one that we as individuals can do responsibly. The choice to pick up hitchhikers should be left to individuals without law enforcement intervention between conservationists, samaritans, & individuals who put their faith in the good left in humanity.
Why is this important?
I've been hitchhiking the U.S.A. over 11 years to use less gas & spread conservation efforts & trust. I believe it is better for people to have the choice to work together & to conserve. I am tired of being told "If I see you out here on the side of the road again you're going to jail." Righteousness MUST prevail!
