New York needs stronger Stalking laws and enforcement.
Why is this important?
My petition is about the way Law Enforcement handles complaints of Stalking. Stalking is a serious psychologically debilitative, and egregious crime to both women and men. However the laws are not strict enough in New York State and the Country. It is not unusual when law enforcement is informed that they treat the victim as though they were the perpetrator, and so do the Courts. This needs to stop! We need stricter laws, which would stop the Stalker, and give them longer prison sentences for their act.
