Pass the Flint Emergency Funding Proposal

Americans across the United States are frustrated by the grave reports of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. In 2016, it is unfathomable that U.S. citizens still have to fight for their quality of life and environmental equity. It is clear that not enough is being done, in an immediate response, to fix the problem and provide relief for the thousands of families and children suffering from lead poisoning and who are still living without clean water.

WE CAN USE THE POWER OF OUR VOICES TO HELP!

Last month it was announced that the two U.S. Senators who represent the state of Michigan recently introduced a proposal that would provide $600 million in federal emergency relief funding to replace the water supply in Flint and provide medical assistance over the next 10 years for Flint residents who experience health problems as a consequence of the poisoned water supply. However, unless we all, as constituents in our respective districts, unite and collectively demand immediate action from our representatives, the proposal will not receive adequate support, and will die.

Vote it Loud is championing a petition that calls on the U.S. Congress to immediately pass the Flint emergency funding proposal. We encourage you to sign this petition and add your name to the growing list of supporters who refuse to see another child in America fall ill due to a poisoned water supply. Together, we can move the needle on this critical issue and hold our elected representatives accountable in allocating emergency resources to families in Flint, MI, and in providing a quality of life that lives up to the American standards of equality and justice for all.

Why is this important?

Vote it Loud is leading the charge to urge U.S. elected representatives in the House and Senate to pass the Flint Emergency Funding Proposal that will provide $600 Million in Federal Emergency Relief Funding for Flint families in need.
