PATH train: Pregnant women need a seat

Pregnant women riding the PATH train are consistently left standing during their 10 - 20 minute ride, even though priority seating is allocated to those with disabilities. Help us change the protocols with reminders and announcements from PATH conductors.

Why is this important?

As an advocate for pregnant women I'm seeing this situation get worse over the years, as the riding population increases. Disabled persons, pregnant women and those with small children are not given priority seating. It's a simple fix: Awareness.


Reasons for signing

  • I find it truly sad just how savagely men and women alike behave when getting on the Path train. It feels like a game of musical chairs, whoever gets to the seat first, can stay in the game. Pregnant women are much like disabled individuals in the sense that their bodies are changing and their balance and gait are unsteady.
