To: Governor J.B. Pritzker
Paul Vallas is a horrible choice for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois
Vallas' accomplishments in Chicago, New Orleans, and Philadelphia were pretty much the privatizing of schools, the reduction of public accountability, and the undermining of strong unions. And now he's in Haiti working his magic "fixing" the lives of even poorer, young people.
I want Governor Quinn to continue to be my governor. I have absolutely no problem signing a petition for Quinn, but I'd hesitate signing a petition with Vallas on it. One stroke or heart attack and we would have Governor Vallas and Mayor Emanuel? No, no, no. Governor Quinn should choose a running mate who will make Illinois a better state to live in for everyone, not just for a few wealthy individuals.
