Congress won't understand what life is like on the minimum wage until they have to live it. Make Congress accountable to the poorest among us by tying congressional salaries to the minimum wage and only paying them when they're in session.
Why is this important?
Congress' attitude toward the poor is immoral and reprehensible. They will never deal with the structural roots of poverty until they're forced to deal with them personally.
