Congress should not be paid while the government is shut down. When Congress passes a continuing resolution to fund the government without restrictions, including Obamacare, reopens the government, and guarantees back pay to furloughed federal workers, then, and only then, should Congress be paid.
Why is this important?
This petition is designed to help put our government back to work and to right the wrongs created by the recent shutdown of the federal government. Our country's security is at risk and too many people, including children and families, have been hurt by the recent shutdown, which needs to end immediately.
