We, the undersigned, urge the Pennsylvania state legislature to pass a bill that would create an independent board to do redistricting in the future.
Why is this important?
In the 2012 election, Democratic candidates for Congress received over 50% of the vote, but only got five of the eighteen seats. Several districts, including the one I live in, had landslide victories. Pennsylvanians deserve competitive elections, and fair elections. However, that will not be done unless party politics is taken out of redistricting.
