Pension Reform for Congress
Congress seems hell bent on reforming Social Security and medicare under the guise of what is fair for all Americans. How about cleaning their own house first and setting a good example? Let's update congressional pension policy to reflect the times we live in and be fair to all Americans. Here are the changes I propose: 1- You must serve at least full two terms in Congress to qualify for, and receive a pension 2- If you are found guilty of breaking any state or federal law, or abusing the faith and trust of your Congressional position, you automatically lose your pension. 3- If you resign your position due, in any part, to any type of publicized scandal, you lose your pension. 4- If you are sanctioned by a vote in Congress, even if you are allowed to stay in Congress, your pension is automatically reduced by half. 5- These new rules should apply, retroactively, to all persons currently receiving a congressional pension.
Why is this important?
The pension policies for people who serve in Congress are far too liberal and far too expensive for the American people to keep enduring. It is time to update them and make them reflect modern values and modern standards.
