To: President Donald Trump
PERMANENTLY PROTECT THE GRAND CANYON!
I am writing today to urge you to protect the Grand Canyon as the Greater Grand Canyon Heritage National Monument. The proposed monument is a magnificent landscape held dear by Native American tribes, Arizonans, and all Americans.
In 2012, your administration took the historic step to withdraw much of this region from uranium mining for 20 years. I support that action, and now I am urging you to take the next step.

Why is this important?
The Grand Canyon is an icon of our American heritage, known around the world for its beauty and magnificence. But right now, it’s facing serious risks from greedy corporations — including some who represent the Koch brothers who want to open up areas of the Grand Canyon to radioactive uranium mining. Arizona’s Native American tribes, small businesses, and conservation groups are all joining together to ask President Obama to permanently protect 1.7 million acres of the Grand Canyon. Can we count on your support too?
