Pesticides in Agriculture are Deadly to Honey Bees

Ban clothianidin, an agricultural pesticide the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has classified as "highly toxic" to honeybees. Clothianidin is marketed as "Poncho" by Bayer Crop Science. The chemical was approved for U.S. use in 2003 and German use in 2004. Since then, Germany has banned an entire family of pesticides, fueling accusations that pesticides may be responsible for the current worldwide epidemic of honeybee die-offs. Protect the honey bees, protect mother nature, and protect agriculture.

Why is this important?

Science proves the use of pesticides in agriculture is deadly for honey bees. Currently, there is a petition alleging the EPA is in violation of federal law by allowing the continued “sale and use of clothianidin, a neonicotinoid pesticide.” If the petition is ineffectual the next step needs to be a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency for negligence in not protecting honey bees.
