Petition for the Wild Rogue River
We the undersigned support the protection of streams and roadless forests in the Lower Rogue watershed. The Wild Rogue is one of Oregon's most well known rivers with world class whitewater, fishing, and scenery. The area is one of the state's premier recreational hot spots, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year and contributing millions of dollars to the local economy. The Wild Rogue also provides important salmon and steelhead spawning and rearing habitat, providing the backbone for one of Oregon's most important sport and commercial fisheries. Please support efforts to protect this ecological treasure and economic engine.
Why is this important?
Legislation was introduced at the end of 2011, and with your support 2012 could be the year that the creeks and roadless forests of the Lower Rogue River are permanently protected! Please speak up for this national treasure and ask the Senate to protect these public lands and waters for all of America.
