Petition the 113th Congress to act in a bi-partisan manner

Congressmen and Senators, it is time for members of both parties to work together in the House of Representatives and Senate on the major issues facing this nation, such as reducing the national debt, comprehensive immigration reform, cuts in defense spending, reducing deficit spending, improving public schools, passing a gun violence prevention bill and other pressing issues. You must address these issues in the 113th Congress in a truly responsible bipartisan manner to stabilize our nation and to speed recovery from the recession.
The last congress, the 112th, had about a 10% approval rating and was really another “do-nothing” Congress. A more recent rating showed only 9 % approval for the current Congress. The signers of this petition will be watching your speeches and votes in the House Representatives and Senate during this 113th Congress. If you do not show a more bi-partisan approach to issues, we will not vote for you in the November 4, 2014 election and will work to ensure the election of another candidate of either party who will.

Why is this important?

Bi-partisanship in the House and Senate is vital to the smooth running of government programs, the nation’s economy and passing important legislation. That is the only way to end our fiscal troubles, pass good immigration reform, and other important legislation.
