Petition to Abolish Corporate Personhood
We, the citizens of Wenatchee, Washington, agree with over 80% of the United States population that corporations are not people. We call on our City Council to pass the resolution "Promoting Democracy". Establishing that : 1. Only human beings, not corporations, are entitled to constitutional rights ; and 2. Money is not speech, and therefore regulating political contributions and spending is not equivalent to limiting political speech.
Why is this important?
This petition is about returning the influence of the vote to the human citizens of communities and states a cross the nation, making politicians and polices reflect the will, and serve the common good of the people above all, not the financial interest of corporations.
