Astoria is a small, historic town with the Columbia River as its front yard. In recognition of the limitation of our resources- public water, street and sidewalk capacities, sewer, parking and housing for our workforce- we ask that the city council set immediate priority on initiating zoning ordinance changes which require hotel proposals to meet conditions (CUP) addressing infrastructure needs and protecting residents’ experience on the waterfront.
