We the undersigned propose to begin discussions regarding peaceful secession from the United States to form the Independent Republic of California.
Why is this important?
California is the most populous state in the Union and has one of the largest economies in the world. The state is politically different from the rest of the Unites States (the Union), and has an increasingly more heterogeneous population. The State pays more money into the national treasury than is returned and therefore subsidizes states whose political philosophy holds back social and economic progress in our State. California would do better for its citizens as an independent republic
