We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders in education to act now. The criteria for Gifted programs are left for the states to decide. Tests are often culturally biased and may reflect background, socioeconomic status, exposure and experiences rather than true giftedness. We also find it in the best interest of Brooklynn R. Batts and the students with whom she will come in contact for Plaza Middle School to recant their initial decision and afford her access to the education she has justifiable earned.

Petition is being submitted to call on Plaza middle school, Administrators, and all those involved in the decision making process of student entry into the Gifted Program to reconsider and accept the application of Brooklynn R. Batts submitted year 2013 for Rising 6th grade admission
