To: The Connecticut State House, The Connecticut State Senate, and Governor Ned Lamont
Petition to: STOP the Closing of Ella Grasso Center
Gov. Malloy has announced the Closing of Ella Grasso Regional Center as of June 30, 2016. Gov. Malloy's plan to move these clients (our loved ones) to facilities that have been closed for many years, needing many code and health improvements.
It is cost effective for both the Town of Stratford and the State of Connecticut to keep the Grasso Center open. It has been recently renovated, has administrative offices and is the most ideal home for the severely developmentally disabled. The site offers a handicap-accessible therapeutic pool building that the seniors of Stratford can also use.
We are seeking to keep the Ella Grasso Center open in order to protect some of the most vunerable members of our society who cannot fight for themselves.
A petition will be sent to our Connecticut State officials and Stratford Town officials.

Why is this important?
Being the guardian of a resident, it is my moral responsibility to keep a promise to her late mother that I would not abandon her daughter. Kindly sign this petition and pass it on to your friends. Thank you.
