Plea for Continuation of FBI Corruption Investigation
Dear U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder:
CC: FBI Director Robert Mueller:
Please don’t be swayed by those who think you should let Ben Stevens off the hook or apologize to Ted Stevens. I/we live in a state where thousands of people, for good reason, fear their government; a state where honest business owner’s tolerate corruption in silence, for fear of being put out of business if they speak up.
While Ted Stevens’ best friend Bill Allen and other oil executives were bribing Alaska’s legislators, including Ted's son Ben Stevens, corruption in Alaska grew to that critical mass necessary to enable corruption to become self sustaining with or without oil backed bribery schemes. End result, communities across Alaska are dominated by persons who’ve secured an unfair advantage over local commerce by pouring money into the campaigns of elected officials who sustain their unfair advantage.
While newspapers in Fairbanks and Juneau expose oil industry corruption, Alaska’s largest newspaper in Alaska’s largest city and all three of Alaska’s television news stations all tell an entirely different story as their largest advertisers spend millions of dollars supporting legislation that would put Alaska’s oil tax policies right back where they were before the FBI raided the offices of six oil subservient legislators.
Salaried persons not favored through patronage, honest business people, and honest persons seeking public office are all held at a substantial disadvantage. While we agree that all evidence should have been given to Ted Stevens’ defense, allowing the unfortunate occurrences in his trial to completely derail the cleanup of the corruption that grips Alaska would be to abandon a majority of Alaska’s good citizens to a handful of wolves. Please redirect the FBI to finish what it started.
Sincerely Former State Legislator Ray Metcalfe and co-signers.

Why is this important?
While Ted Stevens’ best friend Bill Allen and other oil executives were bribing Alaska’s legislators, including Ted's son Ben Stevens, corruption in Alaska grew to that critical mass necessary to enable corruption to become self sustaining with or without oil backed bribery schemes. End result, communities across Alaska are dominated by persons who’ve secured an unfair advantage over local commerce by pouring money into the campaigns of elected officials who sustain their unfair advantage.
