At the heart of democracy is the right to vote without undue hardship or obstacles. It's time to stop special interests from inappropriately influencing elections by restoring common sense voting rights. Please cosponsor the Voting Rights Amendment of 2014.
Why is this important?
The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress has ever passed. Last year's Supremem Court Deicision weakened critical provisions of this Act. Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill that was introduced in the house by both a Republican (Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner WI) and a Democrate (Rep. John Conyers MI). Please help me urge Rep. Ros-Lehtinen to support this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.
