Stop the creation of so-called "Pledges" by our representatives in Congress. Sign the petition to pledge to not vote for anyone who signs or creates a pledge in government in the next or subsequent elections.
Why is this important?
Signing this petition is a promise or refusal to vote for any public official that agrees to sign or creates a "pledge" for others to sign. Signing pledges creates an infantile game that politicians are playing instead of voting their conscience or the way the people they represent would like them to vote. This has to stop so that compromise and negotiation can, once again, rule the way our politicians get things done.
