Pledge to Vote Yes on Prop 34 in remembrance of Troy Davis

The executions of Troy Davis and other innocent people, like Cameron Todd Willingham and Carlos De Luna, prove that as long as we have the death penalty, we risk executing innocent people. I pledge to vote "YES" on Prop. 34 to eliminate that risk by replacing the death penalty with life in prison without parole.

Why is this important?

One year ago, Troy Davis was executed in Georgia. In the days leading up to his execution, he said “This movement to end the death penalty, to seek true justice, to expose a system that fails to protect the innocent must be accelerated. There are so many more Troy Davis’. This fight to end the death penalty is not won or lost through me but through our strength to move forward and save every innocent person in captivity around the globe. We need to dismantle this unjust system city by city, state by state and country by country.”

And that's exactly what we're doing in California this November with Proposition 34. Prop. 34 replaces the death penalty with life in prison with absolutely no chance of parole. A “Yes on 34” vote guarantees we will never execute an innocent person like Troy Davis and it will also save the state of California $1 billion in five years. Prop. 34 in endorsed by the California Nurses Association, the California Labor Federation, the California League of Women Voters, the California Democratic Party, the California NAACP, and the California Catholic Conference of Bishops.

Please join us in pledging to vote YES on Proposition 34 to ensure California never executes an innocent person.
