Policies for hiring ex-offenders

Here in Alaska I have had a hard time getting hired because of my criminal background history, I believe that some of the businesses and companies are being a bit hard on individuals with criminal background history. Please, it is hard enough coming out from serving a 2 year sentence and transitioning back into society, and employers making it hard to get a job, especially in a state as small as Alaska, where everyone knows everyone, this is more ridiculous then necessary. I admit I made bad choices in life, but this doesn't define who I really am, or who I am trying to become. I, and speaking on behalf of others like me, would like to petition that, companies and businesses remove some of the policy for hiring ex-offenders in the state of Alaska.
