Political insider trading
After years it has recently been revealed that Congress has excepted itself from criminal laws relating to insider trading. By doing so it has placed itself above the law. There is no justifiable reason why Congress should not be subject to the same criminals laws as everyone else. This practice not only leads to a double standard but also contributes to corruption and undue influence by special interest groups. It is a form of legalized bribery. This practice should be stopped and criminalized.
Why is this important?
Congress for years has apparently excepted itself from criminal laws relating to insider trading and placed itself above the law. There is absolutely no justifiable reason why Congress should not be subject to the same laws as the rest of society. This creates a double standard and leads to corruption and undue influence by a special interest group.
