When someone is hired for a job, they sometimes receive benefits. When they quit the job, are fired or retire they do not get to keep all those benefits. Why should our government officials get to keep their benefits after they leave office. They have a job just like anyone else, which means that after they serve this country and quit, are fired or retire, their benefits should end. Just think of the money we can save and put towards other programs with the millions saved.
Why is this important?
I feel ALL politicians should be should be held to the same standards as anyone holding a regular job. If or when you leave a regular job you do NOT get to keep any benefits from that job so why should our government officials get to keep their benefits.
