I did not find this out till I went to the pharmacy counter These are drugs used for the intended purpose(not off label). It is un-needed harassment to get some people to pay for drugs they have coverage for if they don't want to wait the day for the call to the doctor or the druggist calling the insurance company. OR to get people to not use needed drugs for no reason.
An insurance company has no reason to stop you from getting the coverage of drugs that you need.
Why is this important?
Recently I had to get insurance companies approve drugs I was already taking.
