Call on the FAA to stop airlines from separating families on passenger flights in order to ensure safe emergency evacuation for all passengers.

Otherwise, the FAA should recertify all aircraft to account for the congestion effect caused by parents trying to reach children prior to exiting in the emergency evacuation, and thus eliminate enough total seats onboard in order to evacuate within the required 90 seconds.

Why is this important?

Premium seating, whereby the airline, in this case Delta, charges a premium for window and aisle seats, has the effect of separating family members throughout the aircraft and thereby compromises the safety of all on board in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Parents will go to their children first before evacuating the aircraft, thus compromising the efficient flow of passengers to the exits. Aircraft are certified to be able to evacuate the aircraft within 90 seconds. All FAA evacuations certifications are thus now invalidated now that parents are going to go their children first, before evacuating. Stop separating families on airlines!
