On May 15 the FCC is releasing a proposal that would allow Internet providers to create a two-tiered internet : one for those who can pay for high-speed access and one for everyone else who cannot afford their rates. We ask that this FCC measure be eliminated so that equal access to the internet is maintained.
Why is this important?
I am also a college student at the University of Southern Maine where a majority of our classes are being transitioned to online classes and where a great number of student live well beyond 2 hours from the campus and have to take online classes. Not having affordable access to the internet would preclude many persons from getting an education.
