President Obama and Congress end punitive earnings limits on retired and disabled workers on Rail...

End the earnings restrictions for people who have retired through disability. Allow those who wish to keep their Railroad Retirement and Social Security payments while continuing meaningful employment.

Why is this important?

I am a retired and disabled railroad worker. I am limited to earning no more than $740 per month. Should I exceed this amount by even $1 I lose my entire pension for the month. There are not many part time jobs available that will allow me to work within this limitation. This is true for all railroad workers as well as disabled and retired persons on Social Security.
It makes no sense to limit workers earnings as they would be taxed on those earnings, their increased spending ability would help to support local business and help to support the SSI fund.
I worked for 30 years in the Railroad industry and earned my pension. It is Draconian to limit my further ability to earn in retirement and demeaning to watch my family's life style suffer.
